Project background

On the one hand, more remote sensing data (earth observation, LIDAR) is available than ever before, sensors are improving and resolutions are increasing; on the other hand, many processes do not yet utilize the available data and students are not familiar enough with this data after their studies to discuss remote sensing with others. Greenscope's aim is to develop an innovative course on the topic of environmental monitoring through remote sensing. These course materials will be modular and will be used in various courses at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences and at partner universities. In addition, the materials will also be made available online to other interested universities.

Project objective

The project will develop concepts and documents for communicating knowledge about remote sensing data.

Project procedure

The first step is to analyze which applications currently exist for remote sensing data and in which areas there are still gaps. Based on the analysis, areas in which training is particularly important will be identified and corresponding modules developed.

Innovation

The first beneficiaries of the Greenscope project are our students, to whom we can subsequently offer better modules in the field of remote sensing, in which they learn more about satellite data and LIDAR and also come into closer contact with the data themselves.
