"Cool Alps" aims to improve adaptability to climate change and energy security in the Alpine region by supporting the spread of innovative thermally activated buildings.
Climate scenarios predict a significant increase in heatwaves and extreme weather events. More and more hot days are being recorded in the Alps in particular, which will lead to a significant increase in building cooling energy requirements. At the same time, the expansion of renewable energy brings with it new challenges in terms of energy supply security due to the volatility of production and increases the need for storage options.
"Cool Alps" aims to improve adaptability to climate change and energy security in the Alpine region by supporting the spread of innovative thermally activated buildings. Such systems can make settlements more flexible and resilient to periods of extreme heat.
