Digital transformation is an important step in the fourth industrial revolution. With the buzzword Industry 4.0, processes and tasks are being digitized or mapped virtually in order to secure and further increase competitiveness. This is an important step, especially for small and medium-sized companies in the Euregio Inntal region in the Bavarian-Austrian border region. These companies usually lack the appropriate equipment as well as the financial and time capacity to carry out appropriate independent training and further education.
Simplified access to digital transformation
The project partners AXILS GmbH & Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences provide vocational training organizations from the region with access to special training infrastructure so that they can create tailor-made training offers for companies and individuals. This access is aimed at all recognized vocational training organizations in adult education in the Euregio-Inntal region. This cross-border link provides the population and companies in the region with a unique "Smart Factory Inntal" training platform.
The training courses can take place directly in the region in the excellent and specifically smart facilities at the Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences and at the Kufstein Vocational School and are designed to cross borders.
The project aims to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises to enter digital transformation.
In order to solve the need for action described above, the "Smart Factory Inntal" is to be founded with the aim of supporting regional companies in their digital transformation. Divided into:
- Smart Factory Rosenheim, which deals with the topic of additive manufacturing, and
- Smart Factory Kufstein, which addresses the topic of intelligent and networked production under the management of AXILS GmbH,
an important training platform can thus be provided for recognized vocational training organizations, which in turn can provide suitable training courses for companies and private individuals in the Eurregio-Inntal region.
A cross-border cooperation that creates special added value in education and training in the digital transformation.
This platform will provide specific educational infrastructure and specialist support and regional educational institutions can build on this to provide topic-related training and further education for companies, company employees, private individuals, teachers and students.
The Bavarian-Austrian border region is characterized by its small and medium-sized industry, which is an important and powerful driver of the economy. In recent years in particular, discussions have shown that the digital transformation and thus securing competitiveness is a major challenge for these companies.
Limited capacities and a partial lack of confidence in new technologies and strategies are hampering small companies in their digital transformation. With a regional and tailored specific training and further education program, carried out by recognized, regional vocational training institutions, these inhibitions could be solved particularly well, because they are particularly accurate, and joint further development could take place. Regular (online) meetings and networking meetings ensure communication and collaboration.
